Kind of an Oxymoron

Yesterday, my mom, my sister and I were spending the day with an old neighbour of ours. After lunch, we went shopping, or at least they were shopping and I was just a tag along. While I was waiting for them to finish shopping, I found a package cutter/opener. The front of this knife's package read "Stop struggling with those stubborn plastic packages." The thing is is that this stubborn plastic package opener was in one of those hard to open plastic packages. So, in order to open other difficult packages, you have to open that one first. Nice huh.

The Little Things

Yesterday I had to run into Mcdonalds, and on my way in these two kids (about 3 or 4 years old), come running around the corner singing Old McDonald and screaming "McDonalds!" It was so precious, they were so extatic about going to McDonalds they gave one of the employees a hug. It got me to thinking, as we grow up, we loose that kind of joy, we start taking things for granted. The little things like being able to eat at McDonalds, is no big deal. Take the time to take pleasure in the little things. Now I'm not saying you should run into your nearest McDonalds and give the closest employee a hug, but what I am saying is to just take the time to appreciate the little things in life.

New Puppy

We just got a new puppy yesterday! He's a Rat Terrier, a little over 2 months old. His name is Tobias, "Tobi" for short, which means God is good. Our cat, Tigger is still adapting to him, but Tessa, our Dachsund is already looking out for him. Let me know if you want to see more pictures.

Inanimate Features

Have you noticed how inanimate, non breathing things have different characteristics and expressions? I know it sounds wierd, and you think I'm crazy, but think about it, it's pretty much like you can see figures in the clouds. Take cars for example; the new Dodge Charger looks like a bulldog, the Subaru B9 Tribeca looks like a mouse. Other cars look angry, some bored, some even look like bugs, exc. Then there's household items. The wall socket looks shocked (fits doesn't it). Our loveseat, if you look real close, looks kinda like a cartoon frog. Please take a look and tell me if you see it too, or if it's just me and I really am crazy.

What people won't do for a Chipotle burrito

Last night me, my family and a few friends of ours dressed up as burritos to recieve a free Chipotle burrito. My sister ( back right) was a salad. My Mom, me and Mrs. Howey were wrapped in tan blankets with aluminum foil on our heads. Shoshanna also wore aluminum on her head but she wore a pillowcase. Josiah and T.J. were a double meat burrito.

Tug of War

Last weekend was my dad's company picnic. It was full of good food, games for kids, raffle drawings, and flies, lots of flies. Toward the end of the picnic, the apprentices challenged the journeymen to a game of tug of war. My dad being a journeyman joined the journeymen's side. A very large group of people, myself included, stood waiting and watching. The woman standing in front of me had her camera out ready to "Get a picture when they fall," pointing her camera in the direction of the journeymen. The war began and no more than a minute passed and the apprentices were tumbling like dominoes. As soon as they stood up and dusted themselves off, they were calling for another game. I think since they were the ones who challenged, I figure they wanted their pride back.

During Prayer

Yesterday, my family and I were reminded of an incident that happened a few years ago. One of our neighbors had a little boy that went to the school my mom worked at, and one Sunday night we took him to church with us. At the end of the service we all stood to pray and be dismissed. When every head was bowed and the room was completely silent, this little boy looked up at my dad and said, " Why is everybody staring at the ground?" very loudly. In the background you could hear many people begin to snicker because here we were preparing our hearts to pray, when the silence was broken by young boy wanting to know what was going on.

My Family

I found this quote the other day:

Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts. ~Author Unknown

I saw it and immediately thought of my family. They are very sweet, but myself included, we can be nutty at times.
